Breaking the Rules- Andrea

The thick, bright green moss is what first caught my attention for this image. I tried taking pics of just the mossy fencepost, but I decided to include the old, red barn in the background to give some sense of place and for the complementary colors. The fence is more prominent and the background more blurred than I would normally make it for a landscape photo. Also, the fence leads off to the left rather than the right. I would have liked some more dramatic lighting for the scene, but the day I had to shoot was overcast and gray.

Melissa- Swimming across the sky

This was taken at Nisqually. I thought the water had a really cool viscous quality today, like liquid mercury. I was trying to set up a shot with the sun reflection included in the corner so it would look like more of a classic landscape and then a group of geese swam through the scene. The photo is rotated 180 degrees. I think it looks like the goose is swimming right through the sky.
